Birnadine Mack Scholarship Foundation

The Colorado School and Public Employees Retirement Association (CSPERA) is proud to announce the Birnadine Mack Scholarship Foundation to aid active school personnel in their pursuit of further education.

The foundation is named in honor of Birnadine Mack, who was a member of the faculty at Casey Junior High in Boulder Valley School District, teaching mathematics for twenty-three years.  She was an activist in teacher association activities and, upon retirement, served as president of CSPERA for four years.

The plan is to award a $1000 scholarship to a recipient in each of the four divisions of CSPERA-metro, northeastern, southern, and western.  The money may be used for educational purposes such as training, workshops, re-certification credit, or studies in pursuit of a degree.  ALL current school employees are eligible to apply.

The Birnadine Mack Scholarship Foundation is on schedule. A cover letter, letter of introduction, and application was sent to local unit presidents, division chairs, and CSPERA leadership. Please forward the letter of introduction and application to anyone you can think of (school district employee associations, superintendents, communication personnel, and/or school managers, etc). The application deadline is March 15. The goal is to complete judging by May 15 and award 4 scholarships of up to $1000 each at the Annual meeting on June 5.
